WHANAU ORA

Whānau Ora is about increasing the wellbeing of individuals and whānau to lead full lives and uses the power of whānau to improve the wellbeing of individuals and whānau. It provides whānau with appropriate services and support so they can become more self-managing and achieve their aspirations.

Whānau Ora puts whānau and families in control of the services they need to work together, build on their strengths and achieve their aspirations.

Whānau Ora services are being measured under the following Categories and Key Performance Indicators;

A. ECONOMIC

  • Financial Literacy and Family Debt – Families that have prioritised debt reduction AND have begun to reduce their debt (60%)
  • Family Income – Families with a goal and a pathway to increase their income, that have started on their pathway (50%)
  • Home Ownership and Wealth – Families owning the goal of home ownership, are on the pathway to home ownership (50%)

B. EDUCATION

  • Early Childhood Education – Increasing number of families enrolling their children in ECE (60%)

C. HEALTH

  • Healthy Families – Families have a health plan (80%)
  • Smoke Free – Smoke Free Families (35%)

D. LEADERSHIP, CULTURE AND COMMUNITY

  • Culture – Number of families participating in cultural and language programmes (80%)
  • Community networks – Families not connected are now connected (80%)
