𝑨𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒁𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 – 𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓 7, 2024 – ‘Ākiheuho Pacific Dementia Māngalo, is thrilled to announce the opening of its new office located at 45 Mount Wellington Highway, Mt Wellington, Auckland.

The opening ceremony, held on Monday, October 7th at 12pm, was a joyous occasion attended by distinguished guests, board members, staff, and community leaders. The event began with an arrival of guests, followed by an opening prayer led by Fr Lui Tu’ilotolava, of the Ōtāhuhu Anglican Church.

Manu Fotu, the ‘Ākiheuho Board Chairman, delivered a warm welcome speech, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to providing compassionate care and resources to those impacted by dementia. The blessing of the new office was also conducted by Fr Lui Tu’ilotolava, symbolising the spiritual significance of this milestone.

“This new space will allow us to expand our services and better support those living with dementia and their families,” said Maka Pailate, the CEO of ‘Ākiheuho.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Maka, a closing prayer and blessing of the food by Fr Tu’ilotolava, and a tour of the new office led by Tevita Vungamoeahi, the Project Manager. Attendees then enjoyed a lunch, networking, and kava.

The opening of the new ‘Ākiheuho Pacific Dementia Māngalo office marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s history and its continued efforts to improve the lives of those affected by dementia in the Tongan and Pacific communities of Auckland.
