Anaumelie Support Group
Anaumelie is a support group for Tongan Elderly people with Long Term Conditions (LTC) , who regularly assemble to empower eachother to better manage their individual health and overall well-being.
Aotearoa Tonngan Health Workers Association (ATHWA), helps them look for and secure funds to cover costs and other health related services. ATHWA provides their staff nurse to carry out regular health checks of members, and also invite Tongan health professionals to come and do health seminars and workshops throughout the year.

Key areas for development:
There are number of key areas for development and at different levels. These include:-
Develop Community Engagement, Encourage Family Leadership, Embrace Children and Young people’s health, Integrate Culture and Context, Develop Workforce, Enhanced Model of Service delivery, Reduce harm caused by Alcohol and other drugs including Kava, Responsiveness to Mental Health issues, Improve Tongan Men’s Health, Consolidate Internal Infrastructures and Systems.

Album represents a labour of love by a group of friends and associates passionate about Tonga, its people, music. arts, traditions, culture and history, hoping to inspire lovers of traditional Tongan music, hiva kakala (fragrant songs) and also young Tongans born and raised overseas.

Free Church of Tonga workshop Oct 2011
Registered Nurse Fifita Atirai, Clinical Family Navigator Vaisiliva Vahaakola promoted the cellulitis (serious skin infection or ‘pala’ in Tongan) and oral health project, gave free blood pressure and blood sugar tests, as well as encouraged the youth from the Church into careers in health care.
One of the highlights of the Day was watching the youth from the Church receive scholarships to study nursing and other allied health careers.
Athwa TNA Conference 2007
ATHWA funded its own way to Tonga from 15 – 19 October 2007 in order to deliver its workshop programmes of support for our Tongan people, supported by various partners in Tonga, particularly Reverend Fili Lilo and Dr Mapa Puloka. The Minister of Justice, Hon Alisi Taumoepeau and the New Zealand High Commissioner attended the first day and both delivered a speech.
